Demanding shoppers!

Shoppers at the mela or fair that takes place every Wednesday around the lord Ganesha temple near Moti Doongri, Jaipur. At the mela, a large number of people display on the foot paths around the temple a wide variety of affordable and interesting products and find many takers for them! (Photo date: January 6, 2010)

Devotees

Posted in Crowds, Temples by Mayank on January 8, 2010

Devotees wait for their turn to offer prayers to lord Ganesha at the famous Ganesha temple near Moti Doongri fortress, Jaipur (on Wednesdays the temple has separate entrances for ladies and gents). Wednesday is considered auspicious to pray to lord Ganesha and thus every Wednesday, a mela or a small fair takes place around this temple and thousands of people throng to the area. It’s a wonderful weekly event in Jaipur! (Photo date: January 6, 2010)

Long Shadows of Passerbys

Long shadows of passerbys fill up some of the rarely available walking space at the ever-busy and narrow Kundigaran Bheru Ji ka Rasta at Johri Bazaar. Photograph taken on the evening of June 6, 2007.

Chock-a-block!

Chock-a-block at Gopal-Ji Ka Rasta

Parked vehicles and passerbys at Gopal-Ji ka Rasta, an ever-busy street in the walled city, famous for sweet and jewellery shops. During weekdays this street is usually extremely busy and I had a hard time finding a good spot to take a picture from! (Photo date: June 6, 2007)
