Jharokhas, Jaipur walled city

Intricate, beautiful and centuries old windows at Johri Bazaar, Jaipur. Notice how the mesh in the middle one has a different design. Such windows were originally built to shield houses from the harsh rays of the sun and also allowed womenfolk in the house to look at happenings on the street without themselves being seen.
