Sparrows on a tree in Jaipur Walled City

A leafless tree in the Jaipur walled city which seemed to be a favourite of House Sparrows. One can see many more House Sparrows in the Jaipur walled city than on the outskirts, perhaps because it is much easier for them to find food and nesting spaces in the tightly packed confines of the old city. Kites stuck on trees in Jaipur

A common and lovely sight in Jaipur, particularly from January to March every year, of kites flown on occasion of Makar Sankranti festival stuck on trees! (Photo date: December 21, 2006)

Dhok trees near Nahargarh, Jaipur

A beautiful group of Dhok trees on the hills near Nahargarh fort. One of the characteristic trees found on the Aravalli hills around Jaipur, Dhok shed their leaves in the hot and dry summer months, when they also reveal their sculpturesque forms! (Photo date: May 7, 2006)
